«Viento y Luz vinieron a ayudar a Mujer Cambiante a construir su nueva casa. En el Este, donde Sol se erguía en la mañana, construyeron una habitación hecha toda de conchas blancas. En el Oeste, construyeron una habitación de caracoles amarillos. Trueno Negro llegó del Norte y se sentó junto a un tallo de maíz negro, allí construyeron una habitación de azabache puro. En el sur construyeron una habitación hecha de turquesa, con puerta de turquesa y huellas de turquesa que indicaban el camino.La casa de Mujer Cambiante se construyó de cuatro pisos, con escaleras que llegaban a cada uno. Se colocaron pequeños soles en cada cuarto. En el centro de la casa construyeron un altar de roca de cristal que reflejaba cada color del arcoiris.

Cuando Mujer Cambiante se hizo vieja, tan vieja que casi no podía moverse, el Dios Que Habla reapareció ante su puerta. Esta vez trajo consigo una niña y un niño humanos. En un instante habían viajado sobre un brillante arcoiris hasta la costa, una vez ahí cruzaron el océano verde en un espiral submarino. Siguieron el camino blanco hasta su casa y saludaron a las Cuatro Direcciones. Cuando se abrió la puerta de Mujer Cambiante, vieron a la joven más hermosa que jamás habían visto danzando alegremente frente a su altar de cristal. Los niños se inclinaron en señal de respeto. Mujer Cambiante los bañó en su palangana de cristal, los vistió de blanco y les puso plumas en el cabello.
Cantó:
Belleza frente a ti
Belleza tras de ti
Belleza sobre ti
Belleza debajo tuyo
Camina ahora con la Belleza a tu alrededor
y tu camino será hermoso.
Entonces Mujer Cambiante se sentó bajo una planta de maíz. Pájaro Azul se sentó en una guirnalda de maíz. Y Mujer Cambiante cantó cada canción que conocía. Y bailando rodeada de polen dejó sus huellas doradas por todas partes.»

«Wind and Light came along to help Changing Woman build her new house. In the East, where Sun stood in the morning, they built a room entirely of white shell. In the West, they made a room of yellow abalone. Black Thunder arrived from the North, and sat down by a black cornstalk-there they built a room of pure black jet. In the South, they made a turquoise room with a turquoise door, and turquoise footprints leading to it. Changing Woman’s house was constructed of four stories, with ladders leading to each one. Little suns were placed in every room. In the center of the house, they built a rock crystal altar reflecting every color in the rainbow.

When Changing Woman was very old, so old she could barely move, Talking God reappeared at her door. This time he brought with him a Human boy and girl. In a flash, they had traveled on a bright rainbow to the coast, then crossed the green ocean on an underwater spiral. They followed the white trail to her house, and greeted the Four Directions. When Changing Woman’s door opened, they saw the most beautiful young woman they had ever seen, dancing joyfully before her crystal altar. The children bowed. Changing Woman bathed them in her crystal bowl, dressed them in white and put feathers in their hair.
She sang:
Beauty before you,
Beauty behind you,
Beauty above you,
Beauty below you.
Walk now with Beauty around you
and your way will be beautiful.
Then Changing Woman sat down under a cornstalk. Blue Bird sat on a corn tassel. And Changing Woman sang every song she knew. Dancing through the pollen, she left her golden footprints everywhere.»
